About DCS Combat Academy
Real fighter-pilot coaching for sim pilots. We turn your sorties into specific, repeatable improvements.
Why we exist
Most sim pilots plateau because feedback is vague. We provide time-stamped corrections and a simple practice plan you can fly this week. No guesswork, just progress.
What we do today
-
Live 1:1 Debrief, 30 minutes, $250. Private online session with a professional instructor.
-
Tacview compatible across sims. DCS, MSFS, IL-2, X-Plane if it exports .acmi.
-
Deliverables that matter. Timestamps, 2 to 3 drills, optional short notes or recording.
The Academy (in development)
A structured training program that mirrors a real military aviation academy, adapted for simulation.
What to expect
-
Phased curriculum, clear standards, check rides, measurable gates.
-
Ground knowledge, procedures, pattern discipline, BFM, emergency practice.
-
Debrief first culture, Tacview analysis, repeatable drills.
-
Solo track and squadron track.

How we coach
-
Watch the exact moment. Freeze the merge, overshoot, slow bleed or floor bust.
-
Name the cause. Scan, Picture, Energy, Task-load.
-
Assign the fix. Two to three drills with how-to and success criteria.
-
Fly the plan. One week of reps, then repeat.
What makes us different
-
Your footage, your numbers. We correct what you did, not theory.
-
Single-issue focus. One problem, one fix, one week of practice.
-
Repeatable loop. Fly, debrief, micro-plan, fly again.
Team
Alex “Chango” Coraglia, Founder
Twenty years in the Italian Army, most in Army Aviation, plus three years as an intelligence analyst with a NATO Rapid Deployable Corps. Lifelong sim pilot. Built DCS Combat Academy to give sim pilots disciplined, objective coaching.
Vincent “Jell-O” Aiello, Lead Instructor
Retired U.S. Navy fighter pilot and former instructor. Host of Fighter Pilot Podcast. Clear, tactical feedback and practical drills that stick.
Roadmap
-
Academy alpha modules, internal testing.
-
Group coaching and squadron packages.
-
Case studies with anonymized Tacview tracks.
-
More free tools, checklists, kneeboard aids.
Who this is for
Solo sim pilots, squadrons, creators who want on-air debriefs, mission designers who want scenario and brief reviews.
What to expect from a session
You bring a Tacview or short track, ideally twenty minutes or less, and one goal. We deliver timestamps, two to three drills, optional notes or recording. You fly the plan within seven days, then iterate.
